How to Apply Makeup

The beauty industry has loads of beauty secrets and visiting a makeup artist for a makeover can be a great way to learn some of their tricks. But, if you can’t afford a makeup artist, here are some quick tips you can start using today for flawless makeup application.

Applying Makeup Tips

Do not use foundation profusely. Wash off your make-up before retiring to bed. The particles clog the skin-pores, and prevent the skin from inhaling fresh air.

For oily skin, a cake foundation is good. Avoid use of foundation with lanolin base. However, you can use a vanishing cream as foundation.

Take into account the color of the hair when applying lipstick. Orange shade lipstick will match black hair. For grey hair use pink color lipstick and for golden brown hair use scarlet shade.

Moisturizer

Apply your daily moisturizer and let your skin soak it up. Go for one with SPF15 to give you the protection you need from the aging UV rays of the sun. Spread a tissue paper over your face to blot off the excess.

Concealer.

Do you really need a concealer? If your dark rings are really bad, a yellow toned concealer several shades lighter than your skin tone can lighten it a little. Just apply a little, blend it very well into your skin.

Begin your application with foundation, applying it with a clean foundation brush. This will allow you to apply foundation more easily and without wasting any. Never use your hands as they can contribute to oil and the spread of bacteria. Foundation sponges are also a good option.

Layer to Achieve Perfect Coverage - Remember, you have more control over your results if you begin with a very small amount of product. Start with a thin layer of well-blended mineral foundation, and then add additional layers, using the same technique. You may need to pour more mineral foundation into the lid and reload your brush in order to achieve the coverage that you desire. Regardless of the level of coverage you need, be sure to continue buffing as you apply your minerals.

Check Your Application to Make Sure It Looks Natural - Regardless of the level of coverage that you require, your skin should look completely natural. If it doesn’t, that means that you have applied too much product or that the application is uneven. Don’t be discouraged, it takes a little practice to expertly apply a new type of makeup that you are unfamiliar with. If you have over-applied the product, take a clean powder puff or tissue and blot your face to remove any excess. Then resume blending with your brush until you have the look that you desire.

Note that makeup can have the problematic effect of clogging your pores. Be sure to use a brand of makeup that will not clog pores. These types of makeup have been designed and marketed to teenagers with acne problems. Many times this type of makeup will come with complete instructions. Often these makeup products contain ingredients that kill bacteria and help clean out pores.

Many women choose not to wear makeup when acne is acting up, but the anxiety of teenage years can be lessened when one can wear makeup. Covering up the unsightly blemishes can raise their self-esteem. Every young woman with an acne problem must decide for herself as to what is best for her in this instance.

  3. When applying mascara, just brush the wand against the end of your lashes. Lipstick is okay, but is a little cheap looking sometimes. When you apply it stay within your lip line. I reccomend using lipgloss for a nice shimmer, but not too over dramatic. I suggest buying an eyeshadow pallet with shimmering gold bronze and brown. Not bright purples, and blues. You want to look pretty, not stupid. Buy a packet of makeup remover wipes. When you are done wearing your make up just wipe the pads across your face and remove all mascara, eyeshadow, etc. Keep your makeup soft and beautifully natural. Dont apply tons of eye liner and cheap make up or people can misjudge you. Hope this helped!! Oh and I recommend Clinique brand make up :).

  4. With mascara you just hold the brush up to your eye and blink so it coats the eyelash. Repeat a couple of times. Then with a highlighter or blush, suck your cheeks in and feel along your cheekbones. Apply the highlighter/blush below your cheekbones in swift backwards and forwards movements.

For eye pencil :Take the pencil in your hand and stand in front of a mirror.

Close one eye. However, make sure not to hold it closed with your fingers or pull on the lid.

Place the tip of the pencil at upper-inner corner of your eyelid.
Moving the pencil outwards, draw a line as close to the lash line as possible.

If it is not possible for you to draw a straight line at a stretch, use short strokes.
The line that you draw should be thin on the inner corner of the eye and thicker on the outer corner.

Now, place the pencil under the bottom lashes, at the outer corner of the eye.

Moving the pencil inwards, draw a line as close to the lash line as possible.
Again, make sure that the line on the inner corner is thin and on the outer corner, it is thicker.

If you want a softer look, you can smudge the line with the opposite end of the pencil or your fingertip. If not, the work is over with the previous step.

Lipstick: coat bottom lip and rub into the top lip. apply gloss over the top for a shiny look

  5. Hey there. There’s a bunch of makeup guru on you tube for you to check out. They give you special tips on applying and removing makeup.
Make up is like drawing or painting, if you mess up you try again. The removing part, i usually use makeup wipes to wipe off my face. Then i use a cleanser to wash off the rest and follow with a toner and mositurizer.

  6. to apply lipstick. it depends on ur lip shape. if u have thin lips then u can apply it thoroughly and even in the corners and above the lip line bu slightly and uniform. and if u have thick lips then apply only on the middle and not in the corners and confine the liptick with the lip margins. for mascara hold the brush below your upper eyelid and close ur eyes over the brush and after that rub the brush slighlty over the corners of the eyelashes.to remove make up take a cleanser or toner in a plug of cotton and if you dont have those then use rose water which is a natural best cleanser and wipe ur face with it. always remove ur make up so that ur pores r not blocked and u should let ur skin breathe.hope this helps

  7. That’s lovely to hear you really want to make yourself look your best :)

seeing as your not used to wearing make up i’d start with a really nice light and fluffy liquid foundation. i use maybeline satin foundation. this is so easy to apply. push the squirter down till you have a pea sized amount of foundation on your hands and rub together. Next star on your ‘T’ zone. This means starting on your nose and brushing the makeup along the cheeks, then start applying the foundation to you chin and forehead making sure this blends in with your natural skin tone.

Follow by a little touch of translucent powder to prevent shininess!

For mascara, a natural look of mascara will definately benefit you. One layer of mascara should be enough for during the day. To apply mascara open your eye wide, and place the mascara brush at the root of your eyelashes and blink slowly. remove any excess mascara on the skin with a soft facial wipe. For an evening look, apply a few more layers for that extra long lash look!

For lipstick first apply translucent powder to the lips, and then apply the lipstick. This will help it stay for longer. If you like put a little more translucent powder followed by more lipstick for nights out!

When coming home during the day, it’s best to remove make-up with normal hot water and soap. If you come home after a night out, all you want to do is go to bed! so get out a facial wipe (you can get ones suited to your skin type) Try not to always turn to a facial wipe. Too much use of facial wipes can wipe away the natural nutrients of your skin. Tepid water and some Dove Soap will do your skin wonders :)

Hope you look as cute and sexy as you want!
    Good luck my friend!
